Not Very Swift

I have for some time felt I wanted one of those wooden swifts,…
but the more I get the knack of winding off a skein the old-fashioned way, with two chairs, the more I see there is just no reason to make the purchase of a swift. I like things with more than one purpose, and a chair is a splendid example, with it’s infinitely adjustable tension with scoot of the chair leg, requiring no fiddling about. I think I will do the old-timey two-chair method till the end of time.
