A Gift By Post

Arrived by post . . . just yesterday . . .

My dear friend Lizzi has sent me Kate’s new book !!!

I am deeply touched, totally and genuinely surprised, and very excited to have it, naturally, as she is one of my favorite designers.

Liz and I ‘met’ on Kate’s blog, and over the recent couple of years she and I have become what I consider ~ very dear friends.

Well, Liz and I have been talking about a little knit-along we would like to start, in the near future,  from  this new book .  We are thinking of this design . . .

( I can’t decide, the tunic ,  or the tam . . . or both ! )

If you would like to join in our wee knit-along,  or just have this lovely collection of designs,  you can be sure to find Kate’s book here

Above all ~~~ Thank You Lizzi !!!

For all your encouragement, your voice of reason, and well… for this book !

  1. I ordered my copy the day after it was released and was SO excited to get it in the mail. Kate is definitely my favourite designer. LOVE her. I’d love to join the knit-along (if I have the time). First I have to finish Snawheid and Snawpaws…we’ll see how that goes. 🙂 I’m so thankful to have made some beautiful friends (dear and lifelong as well) in the blogging world. True gifts, that’s for sure. Enjoy your new book. xo

    • I think we blogging knitters are a social set of our own. I love those Snaw designs of Kate’s… (my favorite all-time though, is her Neep Heid) . Happy Birthday Debbie. 🙂

  2. Lucky you! A new friend and a new book! Knit along is a great idea, unfortunately I’ll be starting classes again next week. But I might get my own copy of the book soon anyway, and knit when I can. I just finished Christmas knitting today. 🙂

    • Congratulations on your Christmas knitting finished… ! That’s big ! You and I can be good friends too Martha 🙂
I have actually, cast on still another pair of pin-striped mits…. I need therapy ! 😉

  3. I just found your blog through Kate Davies’ blog, and have enjoyed reading your posts. Actually, I just got Kate’s book the other day, and it is just wonderful with all the patterns but also pictures from Shetland. The tam and the tunic are both on my ‘want to do’ list, the main question is Shetland wool or Norwegian wool…

    • Hi Siri, great of you to come by ! Right, Scatness you’re talking about? Well, I suppose the yarn doesn’t matter as much as the colors you love to knit & wear best, just my humble opinion. I’m not a yarn snob at all. 🙂

I'd love to hear what you have to say...
