About: Pretty Little Things (PLT) Gloves are knit entirely in stockinette stitch, and feature a wide knitted-hem cuff of two fine stockinette layers, keeping your wrists warm as toast ! A folded picot edge trim, and a simplest of color stranded motifs adorn this lady-like accessory. Knitted with light fingering sock yarn, they possess wonderful elasticity as well as daintiness. Inspired by lady’s gloves of olden days, they have timeless feminine charm.
I designed these gloves as true right & left handed, in ‘one size’ with three length variations throughout hand, three gusset sizes, and three finger widths, making this glove supremely adjustable. Also included is a schematic page for you to write down your custom measurements if you choose to incorporate where instructed. Also includes optional instruction for half-fingered and ‘texting’ variations.
Size: One adjustable size fits hands from women’s small to women’s X-large, measuring from 7”- 8” around palm, with 3 lengths in sections throughout hand, including thumb gusset, thumb length, palm length, finger length, and finger circumference for best fit.
**My own hands model the gloves in these photos, so if gloves appear to be very roomy, it is because my hands are very small.
Yarn: Malabrigo Sock Yarn, in two colors, a main color (MC) and a contrast color (CC).
Yardage: Approximately 180 (220, 270) yards of Main Color and just a few yards for Contrast Color, for one pair of full fingered gloves, and less for half-fingered options.
Yarn Substitution: I am confident that though the pattern is written for one size, with light fingering (3ply) yarn & small needles, at a gauge of 8.5 sts = 1 inch, that slightly heavier weight yarn & appropriate needles can easily be substituted, at a slightly different gauge, especially as there is a schematic with custom measurements to work off of. This would not be the case for size small so much, but definitely for medium to large sizes. I like to suggest any fine-fingering yarn such as Isager Highland, Cascade 220 Fingering, or Knit Picks Stroll as a second choice.
