Thoroughly enjoying the new winter season, with plenty of rain and the company of a pair of woolen socks I am knitting from some yarn I “un-spun”… playing with color and motif. Inspired by the muse lately, and excited to know that for the remaining winter I will be settled into working a new design, augmenting from an early design from over ten years ago into a new collection of variations! The looms are happy in the closet chatting amongst themselves for a while, the storms softly kiss the landscape, and I must say, I have missed knitting!
Such a great design! Lets have an awesome 2025! xo
Yes… let’s!
Those look fab and cosy!
Thank you Kelly! xx
Beautiful socks! I tried a new knitting pattern for felted slippers and after washing them in hot water several times they simply won’t felt. :/ Next time I will felt a swatch to make sure, before I take the time to knit! Always something new to learn! 😀
Hope you have a wonderful 2025!
Happy New Year to you and yours Sarah!
Regarding your felting project; did you agitate it – alot – in the hot water?
I found what works best is a hot water wash in a machine, stopping to check and shape as it goes.
I washed it on hot in the machine twice and then rubbed and scrubbed it for about 10-15 minutes in hot soapy water. I even dried it several times in the dryer. :/ I used a different yarn for the edge and that part DID felt, so they are very funky looking. Lol! It’s strange though, because the wool is from a local farm and I would have expected it to felt very nicely. Hmmm…

Oh, so 100% wool, that *is* strange.
