Pacific Lullaby

I was tucking in early for the evening, think it was Monday or Tuesday night. The darkness was swallowing the landscape, save for a remnant of the setting sun still barely glowing. Just as I was about to curl up with my solitaire and thoughts, I noticed a beautiful fog moving fast outside the glass door, rolling over the ridge from the Pacific and pouring down into the valley eastward. I recorded it on my phone from the bedroom balcony. A deep sense of safe haven overtook me, knowing the landscape was drinking it all in. A peaceful drowsiness followed… it was the perfect lullaby.
