UnSpun

I discovered one day how I could salvage yarn in my stash by making it into something else; a different thickness, a more beautiful color, gave it another personality, another life, and that day I discovered my love of upcycling yarn. I very much want to share with others my experiments where I create something handmade from something commercial, easily deconstructing plied commercial yarns, sometimes over-dying, plying back together more tightly or loosely, and re-purposing the sorrowfully neglected yarns. Yarn hoarders & thrift shoppers, if you own a simple drop spindle or a spinning wheel, you can go crazy with this!  And I find it rather addictive…

Only a single ball left to that yarn that is lost forever in your stash?    Transform it into a fine lace weight, and knit some lace, or a pair of gloves, or even a pair of socks … I did !
