I am participating in a little knit-along over in Ravelry, because I felt like knitting a few pairs of socks, especially since I gave away the whole stack of socks I knit last year for gifts. So now I’m starting a new stack! Also doing the March Into Spring knit-along because it is March, and so near the Spring Equinox, so if you would like to join in, I’m having a pattern give-away and providing lots of March-ing music (bagpipes mostly) over here. Hope to see you there!
Also this is a Yarn Tasting which coincidentally goes with the whole marching & bagpipes theme having “Northumbria” in the title ~ Miss Babs Northumbria Fingering yarn: It is hand-dyed 100% Blue-Faced Leicester wool, in colorway “adobe”. Springy, elastic, sturdy, just all around perfect for socks, with amazingly beautiful variegation from the hand-dying. Incidentally, this skein was a gift to me after the wildfire, along with another of the same in colorway of “beach glass” ( thank you so very much Taddy ~xx ) Naturally I am providing music accompaniment of the small Northumbrian Pipes to go with the Northumbria yarn, and I hope you enjoy every bit as I do . . .
Your socks are going to be gorgeous in the lovely yarn.
Thank you Wendy. I think you might also really enjoy knitting the ‘school-girl’ variation of the pattern. 🙂
Oh Jen! That’s looking so inviting! Gorgeous colors (both yarn and dishes)!
Lovely greetings (from a lazy chilling friend, sitting by the warming fireplace in Denmark), Petra
Petra, you’ve landed, and sitting by a fireplace sounds utterly dreamy.
Oh, hey, check out the post again, I added some lovely Northumbrian Small Pipes… maybe might make your evening perfect?
We´re enjoying listening to music. Thanks for sharing.
It’s so unbelievable quiet and dark here – biggest contrast to the normal citylife.
(You must be used to it, at the place you are living?)
We are getting into deep relaxation (except when I am checking out the wonderful yarn stores – f.e. Isager or Holst – or the best thrift stores ever – lol)
Right ! The best thrift stores ever, because its easy perhaps to find things knit up in Isager & Holst yarns!!! Yes, in the rural places its so dark when the moon is new, but so bright also when its full. I think most of all the sounds of nature predominant is the magic…. hmm… on the Danish coast… waves? Birds? Wind! Don’t forget to have a glass of wine for me! 🙂 xx
