A very happy winter solstice, and a walk with Juno to the top of the mountain on this very clear bright morning, with wintery sentiment from the red toyon berries. All the new growth is overtaking the dead trees from the wildfire (now six years since), the old trees still standing appear silver and artfully dignified in their rightful place, here, there, everywhere, in the crisp winter light.

A very joyful Winter Solstice my darling friend!….kisses to Juno as well. xoxo
A wonderful solstice day to you too! xx
Happy Winter Solstice to you as well. Your photos are lovely and it’s so nice to see you enjoying walks with your silly puppy on such a glorious day. Just think…only 6 more months until the shortest day of the year. Yay!!! 🎄🌹
Ah yes, but is the longest day of the year something I care about (assuming you meant 6 months until the summer solstice). There in Pennsylvania folks must enjoy the summer so much, but here in California, its a gamble of moderate to extreme high temperatures. I prefer to think : Only 9 more months until its Autumn again! 🙂 xx
I absolutely agree. I hate the heat and humidity of summers here in Pa and look forward to Autumn as soon as Spring is over. I do, however, prefer the longer daylight hours.
Totally. Here in Southern Australia it is the longest day of the year… the fire season is ahead.
Yay to autumn!
Blessings! Juno is so handsome!!!
Juno is indeed, but out of many many shots, these were about the only ones of her not chasing her tail! She’s a crazy puppy with so much energy, soon will be three. xx
So what you’re saying is that they are still nutty at 3? OY!
